Reishi (Ling Zhi)
Reishi is a type of mushroom found in the coastal regions of China. Its found growing on decaying logs and tree stumps. Its name means "herb of spiritual potency” and has been used traditionally to revitalize the spirit and regulate qi. It treats conditions such as fatigue, weakness and insomnia. Reishi contains several important chemicals and compounds, including sterols, polysaccharides, triterpenoids, coumarin and mannitol. Its antibacterial, improves liver health and vasodilation.
Cordyceps (Dong Chong Zia Cao)
Cordyceps is one of the most unique substances found in herbal medicine. It's a form of fungus which grows naturally on the backs of caterpillars found in China, Nepal and Tibet. Licorice (Gan Cao)
Licorice has been used to flavor foods for centuries. Licorice root is used medicinally. The two most important components of licorice are glycyrrhizin and flavonoids. Glycyrrhizin works as an anti-inflammatory and antiviral and inhibits the breakdown of cortisol. It also augments Qi, moistens lungs, resolves phlegm and stops coughing.
