Ingredients

  • Pseudostellaria (Tai Zi Shen)

    Pseudostellaria roots are used in herbal remedies, and contain a wealth of chemicals and essential elements, including copper, zinc, selenium, and more than a dozen amino acids. Its main functions are to supplement qi, strengthen the spleen, generate fluids and suppress coughs.

  • White atractylodes (Bai Zhu)

    White atractylodes is one of the most commonly used herbs in traditional Chinese medicine. An aromatic herb, the plant is indigenous to China and the rhizome is used medicinally. White atractylodes is used as a qi tonic, and to support the functions of the kidney, bladder and digestive system.

  • Poria (Fu Ling)

    Poria is a type of fungus related to polyporus, which usually grows on pine trees. It is usually gathered from the tree, cut into pieces of various length, and dried in the shade before being used medicinally. Poria expels dampness, invigorates the spleen, relaxes the mind and replenishes the middle jiao.

  • Licorice (Gan Cao)

    Licorice has been used to flavor foods for centuries. Licorice root is used medicinally. The two most important components of licorice are glycyrrhizin and flavonoids. Glycyrrhizin works as an anti-inflammatory and antiviral and inhibits the breakdown of cortisol. It also augments Qi, moistens lungs, resolves phlegm and stops coughing.

  • Astragalus (Huang Qi)

    Astragalus is an herb native to northern China. Astragalus contains numerous compounds, including flavonoids, polysaccharides, amino acids and trace minerals. It is used for conditions such as night sweats, diarrhea, and qi deficiency and tonifies Qi and blood.

  • Siler Root (Fang Feng)

    Siler is a long, cone-shaped plant. The root is cut into small pieces, dried, and used in herbal preparations. It is used to dispel pathogenic wind, resolve dampness and arrest convulsions, and is especially effective in treating "wind moist" disorders.

  • Red peony (Chi Shao)

    The root of the plant is used in herbal preparations. Peony contains a unique compound called paeoniflorin, which is believed to calm the nerves and reduce the incidence of muscle spasms. Red Peony is used to invigorate the blood and clear heat.

  • Xanthium (Cang Er Zi)

    The pods, or fruit, are used in medicine, and are referred to as cang er zi based on their color and appearance. It unblocks nasal obstruction.

  • Ligustrum (Nu Zhen Zi)

    Ligustrum is a small, evergreen-like tree native to China. Its bluish-purple berries are used medicinally, which contain a variety of nutrients. Since ancient times, ligustrum has been used as a yin tonic. It stimulates the immune system, fights inflammation, and helps protect the liver.

  • Eclipta (Han Lian Cao)

    Eclipta is an annual herb that is hardy and non-invasive. The leaves, flowers and upper stems are used medicinally.Compounds found in eclipta suggest that it has anti-inflammatory properties. It’s a tonic for liver and kidney yin, clears deficiency heat and cools the blood.
